Welcome to Kindergarten at york elementary!
We are so looking forward to getting to know each family better throughout the school year. We will read many interesting stories and explore different types of texts and genres. We will expand our math skills by learning the base ten system using ones and tens, learn how to solve word problems & identify 2D vs. 3D shapes. We will also study different cultures around the world, conduct STEM experiments, & explore and recognize historical events associated with national holidays. Kindergarten is such a special year in a child's life and we can't wait to help our new students to learn and grow. We hope our Kindergarteners are just as excited for all the new things to learn that awaits them. Go Bulldogs!
My name is Mrs. Chandler. My strong passion for equitable education to all students combined with my big heart for children and the patience to teach others, led me to the teaching profession world. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-6 at East Carolina University. I have taught altogether for 14 years in grades K-2. I am married to a wonderful husband of 7 years. We have an energetic kindergarten boy and a precious little girl that we adore. When I'm not at school, I enjoy playing board/card games with my family, painting door signs, splashing in a pool, watching movies, walking on the trails with our dog, and taking family trips.
